Process Timelines

Items displayed in the Steelcase direct catalog are manufactured as they are ordered, and require three to six weeks for factory production and another one to two weeks for shipping, receiving and delivery to the end user. High end wood furnishings, many non-standard items, and expensive lounge seating may require as much as eight to ten weeks for manufacture and delivery. The design process for design projects can take from one to three weeks.

Please begin the procurement process early enough to allow time to fulfill your needs and meet your timelines.

General timelines are as follows:

• 5-6 weeks: For chair orders and other freestanding type items.
• 8-10 weeks: For private office setups and modular workstations.

Furniture in the UCD Buy Stock and HON catalogs is stocked in local warehouses – either here on campus at the Central Storehouse or in the HON warehouse in Emeryville. Although the selection is limited compared to the Steelcase made to order items, these items are available within 5 days of order placement.

Need to check the status of a furniture order placed in UCD Buy?

• You can check the status of your furniture orders by clicking on the Routing tab and choosing the Pending Orders menu item.
• For orders placed in the UCD Buy Steelcase Furniture Direct website, click on the "Browse Vendor Web Site" Steelcase Furniture link and then on the Your Account tab. You can search for the status of any of your orders. The status information for your order will appear 1 to 3 days after the order is placed.
